Where Curiosity Meets Opportunity: Pre-University Research Competition 2026

16 Apr 2026

What happens when students are given the space to explore ideas that truly matter to them?

In the first half of 2026, Eynesbury College partnered with Adelaide Univeristy and Vinschool to deliver the Pre-University Research Competition — bringing together some of Vietnam’s most curious and motivated high school students.

More than 60 students submitted original research proposals, each shaped by their own interests, questions, and perspectives. From this group, six finalists were selected to present at the Grand Final in April.

Taking ideas to the stage

Standing in front of Adelaide University academics, teachers, family, and peers, the finalists presented research they genuinely cared about. Their projects explored real-world challenges and reflected not only strong academic thinking, but also creativity, independence, and personal insight.

With support from academic staff at Eynesbury College and Vinschool, each student developed the confidence to communicate their ideas clearly and authentically, taking real ownership of their work.

Three students were named winners, receiving Eynesbury College scholarships and a study trip to Adelaide — an exciting next step in their academic journey.

More than a competition

What stood out most wasn’t just the quality of the research, but the individuality and courage each student brought to the experience.

The Grand Final was a proud and inspiring moment for the wider school community, highlighting what’s possible when students are supported to think deeply, explore freely, and challenge themselves.

Following the success of this year’s competition, there is strong interest in returning in 2027 — building on this momentum to create an even bigger opportunity for future students.
