At Eynesbury College, our global engagement is about more than expanding reach. It’s about building meaningful relationships that genuinely support students as they take the next step in their education journey.
This was brought to life during a recent visit to China, where our Academic Director, Mona Umapathy, travelled with our in-country team to connect with students and educators at feeder partner institutions. These include schools and universities that have program recognition and Credit for Recognised Learning (CRL) agreements.
While partnerships remain important, this visit highlighted something just as valuable: the power of human connection. From classrooms to campus conversations, the focus was simple: listen, engage, and share what the Eynesbury experience really feels like.
Bringing the Classroom to Life
A key highlight of the visit was stepping directly into the classroom. Through interactive mock lectures, students experienced Eynesbury’s teaching approach firsthand, one that encourages discussion, critical thinking, and active participation. For many students, this was a new and refreshing way of learning.
“Students were able to engage in discussions and experience sharing of ideas with the wider group, allowing them to shape the direction of the session,” Mona shared.
These sessions helped students move beyond simply understanding our programs, to genuinely experiencing what studying in Australia could feel like.
The Value of Face-to-Face Connection
While digital communication plays an important role, in-person engagement creates a deeper level of trust and understanding.
For Mona, meeting students face-to-face was one of the most meaningful aspects of the trip: “The decision to undertake further study in a different country is a big one. Students are moving away from home, and in most cases, to a place without any family or support networks in place when making this decision. With academic staff connecting directly with students, they understand that they have a huge team at Eynesbury College to rely on for support and that they are not just a name in the crowd.”
Students also connected strongly with Mona’s personal journey as an international student. Even small moments, like introducing herself in simple Chinese, got a laugh and helped everyone relax, which made the conversations that followed feel more open and genuine.
Supporting a Smooth Transition
Many of the students Mona met are already strong academically. What they are looking for is a supported transition into a new education system and environment in Australia.
This is where Eynesbury College can truly make a difference and help make that step more manageable, with the right support in place so students can settle in, build confidence, and focus on what they want to achieve.
“Maintaining strong partnerships means a seamless transition for the students from their home country to their study in Australia. The more students and partners know and are exposed to the culture, approach, support, and welcoming nature of Australia, they more they feel assured that studying here is a superior option for students. “
Looking Ahead
This visit reflects an ongoing commitment to building relationships grounded in trust, understanding, and shared purpose.
By connecting directly with students and bringing the classroom experience beyond borders, Eynesbury College continues to create pathways that help students feel confident, supported, and ready for what comes next.
“Eynesbury College is the launch pad to the next stage of your academic journey – grounded in support, inclusion, and innovation.” – Mona Umapathy, Academic Director, Eynesbury College.
