Accommodation and welfare for students under 18
If you are an international student under 18 and choose to have Eynesbury monitor your accommodation and welfare, you must stay in Eynesbury-approved accommodation.
There are currently three approved options:
- Adelaide Student Lodge (ASL)
- Homestay accommodation
- Yugo (U18 supervised apartment)
As part of our support, students will attend regular, compulsory check-ins with our Accommodation team. These sessions ensure students are safe, supported, and settling well into their new environment. They also provide an opportunity to discuss any concerns related to accommodation, studies, or social life.
Meeting Australian Government requirements
International students under 18 must have appropriate accommodation, support, and welfare arrangements in place while studying in Australia. There are three ways to meet these requirements:
1. Live with a parent or legal custodian
A parent or legal custodian can travel to Australia and stay with the student for the duration of their studies. This requires a Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590) via the Department of Home Affairs.
2. Live with an approved relative
Students may live with a relative aged over 21 who is nominated by their parents or legal guardians and approved by the Department of Home Affairs.
As part of this arrangement, students must submit: Form 157N – Nomination of a student guardian to your application. Find out more on the Department of Home Affairs’ website.
3. Eynesbury-approved accommodation and welfare monitoring
Students can choose to have Eynesbury College manage their accommodation and welfare. In this case, a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) will be issued upon enrolment.
Accommodation and Living Arrangements Request (Under 18)
Students under the age of 18 must complete the Accommodation and Living Arrangements Request form to indicate their preferred accommodation and welfare option.
Accommodation and welfare fees are outlined in the Fees and Payments section.
